Big family love – The Nesbitt’s

Extended family sessions with a lot of little kids can get crazy but can also be so much fun! Cousins and family reuniting. Being able to capture everyone just being together. These are moments that don’t come around too often! I always tell people to embrace the chaos and this family certainly did that. Their big family love was shining through during their session.

Some of Chelsea and Kelli ‘s kids were a little upset at the beginning of the session and rightfully so. This was completely out of their normal routine and with a lot of people and so much going on it can over stimulate your kids. Chelsea handled it so well as she held her kids to comfort them. As time went on they became more comfortable and loosened up.

This extended family session took place at John A. Finch Arboretum. This park is filled with cool historical trees and it was fun to let the kids climb the cool trees and play in between getting some posed photos. But often times the in between moments create the best memories. You could tell all the kids were so thrilled to be reunited with their cousins. I grew up with lots of cousins and have a close relationship with a lot of them. It was so fun to see their connections to each other and how their friendship will grow through the years.

When you have young kids, it can be a hard season and feel frustrating at times. I love to capture images that people can look back on and remember this time as it was with all it’s chaos and fun. Hopefully these images will cause them to reflect on the good times and the sweet little personalities that each little kiddo had!

Towards the end, when all the kids were running around I let the kids use my Polaroid camera. They were so excited to not only take their own photos but to see the image they took and take it with them. Extended family sessions are a time to get a nice photo with the entire family. However, they are also a time to create memories together and have someone capture those memories of that big family love!
