Class of 2020 Seniors

CONGRATS CLASS OF 2020 SENIORS!!

What a wild year it has been! I am sure none of you could have ever imagined that your senior year & your graduation celebrations would look like this. It wasn’t easy & I can’t say I can comprehend all the emotions you have felt but YOU DID IT & I am so proud of you ALL.

Getting to be a part of your experiences & shoot your cap and gown sessions was the best. It was so fun to get to know the seniors of the Class of 2020 & give you all some portraits that will help you remember this special time in your life even during these crazy times. This year was extra special for me because my little brother graduated high school & I got to watch him and his friends navigate this experience. They definitely still made the most of it!

This senior session is of some students that graduated this past weekend from Central Valley High School in Spokane Washington, GO BEARS! Central Valley had a social distancing style grad ceremony one night as they walked across the stage one at a time. There were some fun things to honor them such as an engraved rock with the school mascot! It says “Dedicated to the Class of 2020” “Once a Bear, Always a Bear.” On the back of the rock it says, “Be bold enough to use your voice, brave enough to listen to your heart, and strong enough to live the life you’ve always imagined. Take the world as you find it but leave it a better place.” SO COOL, such great words to everyone & anyone to live by.

Another awesome thing that CVHS did was replace the grass for turf this past week in their stadium field. How cool that the last class on the grass is the Class of 2020 seniors. The seniors names were all spray painted in white on the grass field before they put the turf in.

My sister in law was also part of the 2020 class. She graduated from Herriman High School in Herriman, UT. Their school did something totally unique by having the seniors decorate cars or ride in old style cars in a parade while parents lined the streets with signs and cheered. My mother in law said it was such a fun experience! It would be so cool if they continued the tradition for years to come.

My heart goes out to all you senior parents who are handling everything with so much support, love & strength. I know you must be navigating your own emotions right now & probably can’t believe they are already high school grads. You have been there for them through every assignment, every school dance, every sports event, etc. Not only is their senior year over but it was anything but traditional. I hope you all have built lasting memories & friendships and can look back & realize that is what truly matters! (plus pictures to help you remember & to have for years to come). This chapter has come to a close & now there is so much change happening. Here’s to NEW beginnings & exciting times! Your kids are incredible & will do incredible things. Congratulations to you all!!
