I got married at 18, pregnant at 19, had my first baby at 20, and I will have baby #2 at 21.
I have always loved kids and always knew I would have them quick after getting married, but I never expected to get married so young, but what a blessing it has been. If it were up to me I would have had a honeymoon baby 😉
I have always looked younger than I am, so being 20 and pregnant with my second is quite the experience. I have had several people talk to me about being pregnant and I love it, but it always makes me laugh because they assume it’s my first. Once they discover that I already have an almost 2 year old they are always shocked. It doesn’t bother me and I actually love being a young mom.
Waylon and I want 5 kids and we (and by we I mostly mean me 😉) are hoping to have them pretty close in age. If I could I would have had 5 kids in 5 years. Call me crazy and maybe I am but I think it would be so fun to have them all a grade apart.
Kids bring so much joy into your life and while your life really does quite literally revolve around the fact that you have kids I wouldn’t have it any other way. It can be challenging for sure but the older Abigail gets the more and more I enjoy motherhood. Seeing them develop and get excited about things is something that can’t be explained. I love watching her learn new things!
Before I had kids people told me to wait to have kids so I could just enjoy the time with my husband and be free to do what we wanted. But I feel like we enjoy and appreciate time together even more so now that we have kids. One of my favorite quotes by C.S. Lewis states, “Children are not a distraction from a more important work, they are the most important work.”
Everyone has a different timeline of when they want to or need to have kids but this is mine and I am loving it. Sure it comes with it’s challenges, but Abigail has already taught me so much and I can’t wait to see what blessings Presley will bring into our home.
