Hello World! My name is Ashlyn. I eat cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I got married at 18, I am pregnant with girl number two, and I love third wheeling it with strangers.
That last statement has been true since middle school. Ask any of my friends, I was always the one trying to set people up. In high school, I set my best friend up with her now husband, you’re welcome Hannah, blog post about that coming soon 😉 But really, I am SO good at third wheeling it. I know just what to say and do to get the chemistry flowing. After all, we do want you to not only look madly in love, but actually BE madly in love. You know those photoshoots that you just HATE. Usually its the boy that says “oh heavens I am so glad that is over”, well what if I told you, you would leave wanting to come back. What if I told you that you would be MORE in love on the way home than on the way there. No arguing with your fiancé/husband about why you HAVE to get photos every year. THAT IS WHY I AM HERE. This is why I love photography. It is a way to bring people closer together and to capture those memories forever. I want these photos hanging on your wall to remind you of happy times with the people you love!
Now that you know why I am here, let me tell you some more about me. I grew up in Spokane, Washington, but currently live in Rexburg, ID. Honestly, I love this place. This is where I met my husband. This is where it all started. We met the day before my first day of college and were married less than a year later. Since then we have built 2 businesses, had a baby girl, moved 5 times, got pregnant with baby #2, built a 22 ft. snowman, owned a bunny, and fallen even more in love with each other than we ever thought possible. He has been my number one support through this all and I couldn’t be more grateful for him. He bought me my first camera and has been all for this financially rough ride because he believes in me 😉 Nothing motivates me more than to know that.
I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom. I believe there is nothing more important than raising your kids to be the best humans they can possibly be. That is why I started photography. I thought it would be a way for me to make my own schedule, make money while my husband is in school, and spend more time with my kids, but boy oh boy has this been more work and an investment then anything I ever could have imagined. But I have fell in love with it along the way. There are hard days, but it has been something that I have loved doing. I know that as I get the hang of it and come up with better systems it won’t only make me a better photographer, but a better mom, wife, and friend. If we are to take care of those around us we have to take care of ourselves. This is something I love to do. I cannot wait to meet you and capture your story.
